Description
This 58-year-old patient with a history of left breast cancer previously underwent mastectomy and implant-based reconstruction. Over time, she developed a ruptured left silicone implant, significant capsular contracture, and visible asymmetry, while the right breast demonstrated ptosis that further contributed to imbalance. She elected to undergo revision surgery to restore both form and symmetry. The procedure included removal of the ruptured implant, correction of capsular contracture, and placement of a new silicone implant in the prepectoral plane on the left side. To achieve a balanced, natural appearance, the right breast was enhanced with a smaller implant and lifted using a circumvertical mastopexy with a superior pedicle technique. The result is improved contour, restored symmetry, and a more youthful, proportionate breast appearance tailored to the patient’s reconstructive needs.
