Thigh Lift in Santa Barbara, CA
Whether age or another issue is the cause, the skin on the legs can look crepey or begin to sag making them look flabby. Sara Yegiyants, MD, FACS, a triple board-certified plastic surgeon, performs thigh lifts on women in Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, and Ventura, CA, along with the surrounding communities, who want slender, toned legs.
What is a Thigh Lift?
When women reach a certain age, no matter how active and in shape they are, the skin on the upper legs tends to “fall” and slightly gather at the knees. Because skin on the legs loses its elasticity and firmness with age and overexposure to the sun, it tends to look crepey or a little wrinkly. A thigh lift is done to lift the skin on the upper leg and to tighten it to create a smoother appearance. This can be especially beneficial to those who are in excellent shape and want to be more confident about their legs.
How to Get a Thigh Gap
A thigh gap is that small space in between the inner thighs that indicates a woman is in great physical condition and has slender, toned legs. Some women naturally have it while others work hard to achieve it. No matter what – every woman wants a thigh gap. Luckily, a thigh lift can help create a thigh gap.
Why Choose a Thigh Lift?
A thigh lift is worth consideration for those who have lost elasticity in their legs, and even though they work hard to maintain a great figure, still have issues with their thighs in terms of how they look. Excess sagging skin camouflages definition in the quads and behind the legs.

Who is a Good Candidate for a Thigh Lift?
There is nothing worse than wearing clothing that reveals the upper legs only to have them look old and flabby especially when they are not. Candidates for a thigh lift have typically tried everything else to rejuvenate sagging, older skin, with no luck. At this point, a thigh lift may be an option.
How is a Thigh Lift Performed?
Although it is often done on an outpatient basis, a thigh lift is a major procedure in which the skin is lifted from an incision made at the top of the inner thigh where the leg connects to the vaginal area. When the incision is made, the skin is lifted to stretch the skin leaving a smoother, more taut appearance. The excess skin is excised once the incisions are sewn up. The area is dressed and wrapped to protect and support the skin. Drains may be placed in the incision to prevent blood and fluid from collecting at the incision sites. They are typically removed within a week. The surgery may take up to three hours to complete depending on the extent of the procedure.
How is the Recovery from a Thigh Lift?
A thigh lift requires downtime to allow the incisions and areas to heal without putting much stress on the incisions. As the healing process continues, the results become more visible.
When Will I See the Results of a Thigh Lift?
The results are subtly noticeable within a few weeks or months. The goal is to have more toned, smoother legs as opposed to legs that have had surgery. If a consistent, healthy diet and exercise regimen, along with a quality skin care regimen, are maintained, the results are long lasting.
