Pregnancy, nursing, and raising children can take a huge toll on your body. While some women can bounce back to their pre-pregnancy body, most remain unhappy with the changes they have sustained.

Deciding if a Mommy Makeover is Right for You
Changes to the body after pregnancy and child-rearing can leave you feeling unlike yourself and unhappy with your looks. The Mommy Makeover is a fully-customized combination of procedures and treatments that will restore your youthful physique and help you feel great about your appearance.
Because each Mommy Makeover is tailored to the patient, we can find solutions that work for you. While many women wait until they are done having children to have surgical procedures performed, there are other treatments that can help restore youthfulness and a rested look to the face during the childbearing years, whether you plan on more children or not. Injectables and laser treatments, for instance, can help you project a vibrant face to the world.
What Will My Consultation Be Like?
In our boutique practice, you will meet with Dr. Yegiyants personally when you come in for your consultation. Upon physical examination, she can determine if you are a candidate for a Mommy Makeover and which procedures will be right for you based on your current body and your ultimate goals.
All Mommy Makeovers are fully customized to each patient. If you have pictures that demonstrate the contour or shape that you want for yourself, it can be helpful to bring these to your consultation to share with Dr. Yegiyants. During your consultation, she will extensively review your medical records and history, and discuss your ultimate goals for the surgery.
Dr. Yegiyants has advanced training in arts and aesthetics, and she will draw upon this background to study the natural shape of your body and make recommendations for your procedures. She will also take the time necessary to make sure she fully understands what you want for yourself and that you know what to expect throughout the process.

What Procedures Are Included in A Mommy Makeover?
Women experience different changes and problem areas after pregnancy or nursing. Even after diet and exercise, many women are unable to reduce fat in certain areas and have bulges or sagging skin that they just can’t change through diet and exercise alone, no matter how hard they are working to restore their pre-pregnancy body. Some common surgical procedures that can be performed in a Mommy Makeover are listed below. They can be combined with MedSpa treatments that will leave you looking and feeling your best.
Pregnancy can stretch out the skin in the belly area and also do damage to the underlying abdominal wall. It is common for the abdominal muscles to separate as a result of pressure from the growing belly. Between the stretching of the skin, the spreading of the abdominal muscles, and sometimes the storage of fat in the belly, many women are unhappy with their abdomen after children. The tummy tuck procedure can remove excess fat and sagging skin (and sometimes stretch marks) as well as pull the abdominal muscles back together, resulting in a flatter, firmer stomach.
Breasts naturally sag over time due to the effects of gravity and aging, even if you have never breastfed a baby. If you have nursed an infant, you have likely experienced even greater effects on your breasts. The changes that occur after children often leave breasts flat and drooping. A breast lift procedure can fill out the breasts and restore them to their youthful, natural and “perky” position. Dr. Yegiyants can also address any asymmetries to the breasts as well as reshape the areolas or nipples when appropriate.
Despite exercise and diet efforts, there are some areas of the body that are difficult to slim down. For women who have had children, the belly, thighs, upper arms, and hips may have bulges that make you feel less confident about your shape. Liposuction is a fat removal procedure that permanently eliminates fat from these problem areas. Dr. Yegiyants can use liposuction in almost any area of your body, and she will draw upon her advanced skills and aesthetic sense to create a new silhouette for you, reducing fat in just the right areas and creating beautiful curves.

What Can I Expect During Recovery and Beyond?
Your recovery will depend on which procedures and treatments you’ve had as part of your Mommy Makeover. You may experience some pain or discomfort during the healing process, but Dr. Yegiyants will prescribe pain medication to enhance your comfort for the first few days. You may also experience some bruising and swelling in the treatment areas. You may have compression bandages or garments in place to minimize post-surgical swelling and support your treatment areas during healing.
Once you go home, you need to get up and walk around a bit during the first day or two, but you should not plan to do much movement if you’ve had surgical procedures. It is important that you follow all post-operative instructions to maximize your healing and promote the best possible outcome.
Most patients return to work in a few weeks, once they no longer need pain medication and are able to move around. Though immediate changes will be visible, it may take several weeks or even months for all swelling to subside so you can see your final results. The surgical scars will also fade over time.
It is important to note that significant fluctuations in your weight may affect your results so it is best to maintain a stable weight after surgery.
