What is Gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia is a condition in which men suffer from excessive amounts of fat or breast tissue in the chest region. This is often a result of heredity, a hormonal change, a significant weight gain or the use of certain drugs. Depending on the extent of the condition, it may look like a woman’s breasts. This causes a lot of embarrassment and a lack of self-confidence.
Why Choose Male Breast Reduction Surgery?
Male breast reduction surgery, when correctly performed by a skilled plastic surgeon, greatly diminishes the appearance of breasts by eliminating excess fatty tissue and carefully sculpting the chest to create a masculine physique. Dr. Yegiyants is very skilled with a strong artistic edge when performing gynecomastia surgery and other cosmetic procedures.
Who is a Good Candidate for Male Breast Reduction Surgery?
Men suffering from excessive tissue in their chest areas that result in gynecomastia are excellent candidates for male breast reduction surgery to correct the issue and give them a masculine contour on their chest areas. During consultations, Dr. Yegiyants talks with patients about their concerns, reviews their medical history, and evaluates their breast and chest anatomy. This allows her to determine whether they are candidates for gynecomastia surgery and recommends the best option to achieve their desired look.

Gynecomastia surgery is usually done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. Following the procedure, the chest is bandaged and wrapped to provide support and protection during the initial healing process. The procedure typically takes a couple of hours to complete depending on the extent of the surgery.
How Long is the Recovery from Gynecomastia Surgery?
Most patients take several weeks to fully recover from male breast reduction surgery. It is possible to return to work a few days following surgery as long as strenuous activities are avoided. Within a few weeks, normal activities may be resumed.
