What is the AquaGold Facial?
Both microneedling and the injection of solutions such as hyaluronic dermal fillers and neurotoxins are excellent ways to achieve a younger looking appearance without the need for surgery. Now, Dr. Yegiyants can offer a treatment that combines the best features of microneedling and injectables. The AquaGold device used in Dr. Yegiyants’ AquaGold facial is made up of extremely fine 24-karat gold needles. When used on this skin, these needles create tiny openings on the surface of the skin and then deliver specialized treatments that can then penetrate deeply to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, stimulate collagen, and even out skin tone. It enhances the effectiveness of topical serums and other solutions by increasing the depth to which they are deposited into the skin.
How is the AquaGold Facial Different from Microneedling?
Microneedling is used to create wounds in the skin that trigger the skin’s healing process. The needles penetrate more deeply into the skin than the needles with the AquaGold device and therefore stimulate collagen. In contract, AquaGold is a form of microchanneling. It does not irritate or wound the skin. Instead, it penetrates to the dermal-epidermal junction, which is the ideal depth for serums and solutions to absorb into deep layers of the skin. This is why microchanneling with the AquaGold device is much less invasive than microneedling and does not require recovery or downtime.
What is the AquaGold Facial Process?
When you come in for your AquaGold facial, your skin will be cleansed and a numbing agent will be applied to keep you comfortable. Then, the chosen serum or solution will be inserted into the AquaGold delivery device. The most common types of solutions used are dermal fillers, neurotoxin injectables like Botox®, vitamin serums, or growth serums that stimulate cellular turnover and renewal. Before your appointment, Dr. Yegiyants will discuss with you the best type of solution to use in the device depending on your specific goals.
The device is then applied to the face where the tiny needles will painlessly penetrate the skin and deliver the solution. The entire process, which takes place in the office, takes around 30 minutes and most patients return to their normal schedules afterward. While some patients do experience some redness or swelling, this usually fades within a day or two and can be easily covered with makeup. The AquaGold device is a one-time use piece of equipment, which means your treatment is guaranteed to be sanitary and safe.
Results can be seen three to five days after an AquaGold treatment and the effects can last up to four months. Who is a Good Candidate for an AquaGold Facial?
Both men and women of any age who want to see younger, brighter-looking skin are good candidates for an AquaGold facial. Ideal clients are those who are in good health, do not smoke, and do not have any other conditions that would prevent them from healing from the treatment. Dr. Yegiyants finds that those who are not yet ready for more invasive treatments like chemical peels and laser treatments are especially good candidates because they enjoy the results of the facial without having to plan for recovery or downtime.
