What Is BBL Hero?
IPL is a tried-and-true skincare favorite. Versions of IPL have been used for decades to treat stubborn skin conditions. Doctors and skincare experts know that IPL is one of the most effective options for addressing sun damage or hard-to-treat vascular conditions.
BBL Hero is an improved and advanced iteration of IPL technology. This revolutionary treatment builds and enhances on the traditional IPL experience to create unrivaled results in minutes. It uses the latest aesthetic technology to produce the best possible results from IPL while minimizing downtime and complications.
The Benefits of BBL Hero
- Lightning Fast – BBL Hero can treat a large area like the back in about 5 minutes.
- Customizable – Variable settings allow us to customize your treatment and target your specific skin concerns.
- Treats Many Skin Concerns – From acne to wrinkles, BBL Hero can address a variety of skin concerns.
How Does IPL Improve the Skin’s Appearance?
IPL is a powerful and effective option for improving the skin’s appearance. The BBL Hero device emits powerful light that is drawn to pigmented and vascular areas of the skin. This light heats the targeted areas and destroys the damaged cells.
Treated cells are removed by the body using natural processes. The heat used in the IPL treatment encourages collagen growth and skin regeneration. By removing damaged skin and improving the thickness and quality of the skin, IPL can effectively address many skin concerns and dramatically improve the skin’s appearance.

Am I a Good Candidate for BBL Hero?
If you want to improve the appearance of your skin, you may be a good candidate for BBL Hero. Dr. Yegiyants recommends that prospective patients be in good overall health. Patients should be willing and able to follow skincare recommendations after treatment and be willing to protect the skin from the sun.
BBL Hero can address a variety of skin conditions, including:
- Acne
- Pigmented lesions like freckles, age spots, and hyperpigmentation
- Vascular lesions including cherry angiomas and rosacea
BBL Hero isn’t always the best treatment option. Patients with advanced aging or significant skin sagging may need a surgical procedure to remove and tighten excess skin, like a facelift or neck lift. Surgical treatments may be paired with your BBL Hero treatment or performed in place of this treatment.
If you want smoother, more youthful skin, ask Dr. Yegiyants if BBL Hero is right for you.

Downtime is not necessary after BBL Hero, and patients can immediately resume most activities. Many patients return to work and exercise the same day.

Frequently Asked Questions About BBL Hero in Santa Barbara
How Many BBL Hero Treatments Will I Need?
Although you’ll see results after your first treatment, most patients need a series of BBL treatments to achieve their desired results. Dr. Yegiyants usually recommends an initial treatment series of three to four treatments. These treatments are spaced three to four weeks apart. Results can be maintained with occasional touch-up treatments.
How Is BBL Different from Laser?
BBL is short for broadband light. While a laser uses a single wavelength of light, BBL uses multiple wavelengths. Both lasers and BBL treatments have advantages. Dr. Yegiyants uses both lasers and IPL at her Santa Barbara practice.
Can BBL Hero Be Used on the Body?
BBL Hero is often used on the body to improve acne, sun damage, and other skin conditions. Since BBL Hero can treat large areas quickly, one of its most popular applications is treating the back, arms, and legs.
Is IPL Safe for Darker Skin Types?
BBL Hero is safe for many skin types and tones, but as with many laser and light treatments, it may not be ideal for some patients with very dark skin colors. If BBL is not recommended for your skin tone, Dr. Yegiyants can recommend other treatments like chemical peels or microneedling to achieve your desired results without risking damage to your skin.
How Much Does BBL Hero Cost in Santa Barbara?
The cost of your BBL Hero treatment will depend on the size and location of the treatment area and the number of treatments needed. Each patient receives detailed pricing information during their consultation with Dr. Yegiyants.
Is IPL Painful?
BBL Hero is not painful, and most patients report little to no discomfort. Every effort is taken to ensure a comfortable treatment experience with BBL Hero. The advanced device uses cooling to keep the skin at a comfortable temperature throughout the treatment process. Topical anesthetic can be used if desired.
