You will have approximately three days of downtime, and your skin may look red and feel sore and swollen. Complete closure of the micro-cores can take up to a week, so use only gentle products as directed by Dr. Yegiyants. You need to avoid sun exposure during recovery. Wear sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or greater for longer-lasting benefits.
When Will I See My Ellacor Results?
Your results become evident after a few weeks. Your skin remodels via the natural healing process. Most patients require two to three sessions spaced thirty days apart. Dr. Yegiyants will administer the appropriate topical anesthesia before beginning your Ellacor procedure for your comfort. Most patients report the discomfort level as less than two on a scale of zero to ten.
As every patient has different needs and aesthetic goals, Dr. Yegiyants will assess your skin quality and discuss your cosmetic concerns to determine how many Ellacor treatment sessions are necessary. Typically, two to four treatments scheduled four to six weeks apart will get the job done.
Ellacor removes micro-portions of excess skin to improve the appearance of wrinkles. In contrast, many other skin revitalization devices employ heat generated by laser radiofrequency or ultrasound energy to induce intentional thermal skin injury.
Recovery ranges from several days to weeks, varying by patient and treatment settings. Since different patients heal at different rates, patient experience and outcomes vary.
The Ellacor system can remove the skin on a microscale without using thermal energy.
Microneedling uses tiny needles to injure the tissue, but it does not remove the skin; rather, microneedling only temporarily displaces the tissue. Ellacor technology is the first treatment to remove excess skin on a microscale.
Because darker skin types (V and VI) can react differently to cosmetic treatments than lighter skin types (I-IV), Ellacor may not be the best option for darker skin tones.
