I Want to Look My Best for a Big Event- How Early Should I Schedule My Injectable Treatments?
Injectables allow you to come in for treatment and get back to life. Most treatments require little to no downtime. Many patients won’t miss a single day of work. Downtime is minimal, but that doesn’t mean you’ll look your best immediately. Redness and swelling are common during recovery or it make take a little time for results to manifest, so we encourage patients to come in early. If you have an upcoming event and want to look your best, schedule your treatments ASAP to ensure you’ll be camera ready.
Dermal Fillers
Fill in your thinning lips or smooth unwanted facial wrinkles with a dermal filler treatment. We offer a wide range of fillers including Belotero®, Juvéderm®, Radiesse®, Restylane®, Revanesse® Versa™ and Sculptra®.
Most dermal fillers offer immediate results. Schedule your treatments at least two weeks before a big event so swelling and redness have time to resolve.
Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, Jeuveau®
Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Jeuveau are neuromodulators, a type of treatment that smooths wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that cause them.
Early results may appear a few days after treatment with a neuromodulator and peak after approximately two weeks. We recommend that patients schedule their botulinum toxin treatments at least two weeks prior to a big event so the product will have time to fully take effect.
Kybella®
Kybella® is an injectable treatment for submental fullness, also known as a double chin. This treatment breaks down fat under the chin to improve your profile and contours. If you’re considering a Kybella® treatment, plan ahead. Swelling is a common side effect and can take a few weeks to fully resolve.
Results typically appear four to six weeks after treatment, but if you need more than one treatment, you’ll need more time. Most patients need at least two treatments, but sometimes as many as six. Schedule your treatment as early as you can, and if you have an upcoming event, let us know so we can time your treatments to ensure you’re not experiencing swelling at an inconvenient time.
Retreatment- How Often Will I Need Touch-Ups to Maintain My Results?
Results from injectable treatments are temporary, but with retreatment you can maintain your youthful look for years to come.
- Dermal Fillers- The longevity of fillers depends on the product used and the area treated. Most of the fillers we use are long-lasting, providing results that last for several months at a minimum or for our longest-lasting fillers, several years.
- Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, or Jeuveau- To maintain results, plan on coming in for retreatment multiple times each year, often every three to six months.
- Kybella®- Most Kybella® patients receive an initial series of treatments, usually between two and six treatments. Once your ideal result is obtained, retreatment is not expected. Kybella® permanently destroys fat cells under the chin. Fat cells don’t regenerate, so once they’re gone, they are permanently gone.
