Plump, shape, and contour without surgery or downtime. We love that injectable dermal fillers provide big volume in a little treatment. All you need for fewer wrinkles or fuller lips is a quick 10-minute treatment and a series of tiny injections.
We’re sharing our best tips for maximizing your results after a dermal filler treatment in Santa Barbara, CA.
Upcoming Big Event? Start Planning Now
Dermal fillers provide instantaneous results, but initially, bruising, redness, and swelling can keep your results from looking their best. These side effects fade quickly, and you can cover them with makeup, but we recommend planning if you have an upcoming event.
To ensure you look your best at all your major events this year, look through your calendar now. Schedule treatments several weeks before family reunions, business presentations, and wedding receptions.
Pair Up
Some things are better together. Combine your filler injections with other non-surgical treatments to enhance your results.
Dermal fillers complement treatments with neuromodulators like Botox®®. Botox® smooths wrinkles around the eyes, while fillers smooth deep creases and restore facial volume. Our liquid facelift uses fillers, neuromodulators, and our InstaLift to provide non-surgical rejuvenation to the entire face.

Stay on Schedule
When life gets busy, it’s easy to forget about maintaining your look. Schedule your future treatments now so you won’t forget.
With regular treatments, you can enjoy beautifully rejuvenated skin all year long. We recommend scheduling neuromodulator treatments every three to four months and filler treatments every six to 12 months.
We can help you decide when to schedule follow-up injections for your best results.
Choose the Right Fillers
The best filler for your lips may not be ideal for treating your nasolabial folds. We offer many different filler options, including:
- Belotero
- Juvéderm®
- Radiesse®
- Restylane®
- Sculptra®
We’ll help you select effective options for your skin.
Keep Bruising to a Minimum
Look your best quickly after treatment. By minimizing bruising and swelling, you can enjoy results sooner. Here are some tips.
- Get chilly: Ice the treated area for the first one to two days. We recommend using a cold compress for 10 to 15 minutes, several times each day.
- Elevate: Since you will typically get dermal fillers injected into your face, keeping the treated areas elevated is relatively easy. Use an extra pillow or two at night to help keep your head raised and to reduce blood flow (and bruising).
- Don’t be saucy: Alcohol can impact the blood vessels, potentially increasing bruising if you consume it during recovery. We recommend avoiding alcohol for at least 24 hours before surgery and until bruising and swelling resolve after treatment. Smoking is another no-no during recovery.
