Sciton® ClearV™ & ClearSilk™ Laser Treatments
Sciton® is at the forefront of cosmetic laser technology, and triple board-certified Dr. Sara Yegiyants offers two excellent treatments with entirely different goals. Sciton® ClearV™ is for rosacea, vascular lesions, and spider veins. Sciton® ClearSilk™ is a quicker procedure that can clear pigment, reduce vascularity, and improve the overall appearance of the skin tissue and pores. ClearSilk™ is commonly referred to as a “lunchtime facial” since it is so quick and easy. Most patients can resume their daily activities directly after their session.
Sciton® ClearV™ in Santa Barbara
Are you one of the sixteen million Americans who suffer from rosacea, common among women who navigate through menopause? Sciton® ClearV™ is a laser vein treatment that helps with this issue, along with vascular lesions, port wine stains, spider veins, and birthmarks.
ClearV™: The Preferred Choice for Vascular Treatments.
ClearV™ offers a safe and effective treatment to address broken capillaries, visible vessels, spider veins, skin discoloration, and vascular lesions. It employs laser energy to heat undesirable micro-vessels and resistant subsurface vessels to ensure they fade over time and are less noticeable. As a result, most patients experience little to no downtime and may resume regular activities immediately after treatment.
What Can I Expect During my ClearV™ Laser Treatment?
During your consultation, Dr. Yegiyants will discuss your medical history, skin conditions, the treatment areas, what to expect, and what to do after treatment for optimal recovery and results.
Before your treatment, we ask you to remove makeup or moisturizer and, if necessary, to shave the treatment area. You won’t need local anesthesia for the treatment.
We will protect your eyes with safety glasses. Depending on the treatment site, your session will take half an hour or less. Laser energy will be administered precisely to the skin where you have the issue. This energy will feel warm to hot as the damaged vessels absorb the laser pulses.
What Areas of The Body Can ClearV™ Treat?
ClearV™ laser treatments can be safely done all over the body. Typical treatment areas include:
- Face
- Neck
- Arms
- Chest
- Abdomen
- Legs
- Feet
Benefits:
- No downtime: After treatment, you can return to your routine
- ClearV™ can safely be done all year (even during the warmer months), offering more flexibility on your timeline
- Treats all skin types: ClearV™ may be used on all skin tones and types
What Can I Expect During Recovery After a ClearV™ Treatment?
You may experience swelling and redness around the targeted site. A sunburn sensation is expected, as is soreness. These tend to subside within 48 hours.
After 48 hours, your skin will look slightly bruised. The veins may become more visible than before the treatment, but this is normal. Within three weeks, the color will start to fade and become lighter and lighter each week afterward.
A support hose or an ace bandage will help with discomfort and bruising.
Features:
SVI (Subsurface Vein Illumination)
SVI employs two light colors to offer custom color blending and three brightness intensities. This helps illuminate targeted blemishes for a precision vessel treatment.
Integrated Spot Adjustment
The integrated spot size adjustment allows us to select the right spot size for customized treatment without using adapters or additional technology. This feature, of course, minimizes downtime.
Sciton® ClearSilk™: The Lunchtime Facial with a No-Downtime Solution
Over time, the skin can develop pigmentation and textural issues because of lifestyle changes, the natural aging process, and environmental factors. In addition, its building blocks—collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid— naturally slow in production. Sciton® ClearSilk™ delivers gentle, targeted heat to underlying skin tissues to correct these cosmetic concerns and provide radiant results with no downtime.
ClearSilk™ is the perfect 30 minute facial for a special event or just to look fabulous. It is an excellent first laser treatment for patients of all skin types who need to resume their daily activities immediately following treatment. Its uniform, non-ablative heating ensures beautiful, reliable results.

ClearV and ClearSilk in Santa Barbara FAQs
Sciton ClearV is an advanced laser vein treatment that uses targeted laser energy to reduce the appearance of unwanted vascular conditions, including spider veins, broken capillaries, rosacea, port wine stains, vascular lesions, and birthmarks. It heats micro-vessels and subsurface vessels, so they gradually fade over time. Dr. Yegiyants offers ClearV at her Santa Barbara medspa as part of a safe, non-surgical solution treatment plan for all skin tones and types.
Sciton ClearSilk is a non-ablative laser facial treatment that takes approximately 30 minutes — making it quick enough to fit into a lunch break. Using a 1064nm Nd:YAG laser wavelength, ClearSilk delivers uniform, gentle heat to the deeper layers of the skin to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, redness, enlarged pores, and uneven pigmentation. There is no downtime, so patients can return to their daily activities immediately after treatment.
Unlike skin resurfacing treatments, ClearV is specifically designed for vascular concerns – spider veins, rosacea, port wine stains, and visible broken vessels. ClearSilk is a broader skin rejuvenation treatment that targets pigmentation, fine lines, redness, and overall skin texture. Both are non-surgical laser treatments available in Santa Barbara, but they address different cosmetic goals. During a consultation, Dr. Yegiyants will review your medical history to recommend the best treatment – or a combination of both – based on your skin conditions and concerns.
Both treatments are safe for all skin tones, including darker skin tones, and types, making them accessible to a wide range of patients. ClearV is ideal for anyone dealing with rosacea, spider veins, visible capillaries, or vascular lesions. ClearSilk is an excellent first laser treatment for patients who want to improve overall skin quality, reduce redness, or maintain a radiant complexion without committing to downtime. A consultation with Dr. Yegiyants will help determine which treatment is right for you.
A ClearSilk treatment typically takes around 30 minutes, which is why it’s nicknamed the “lunchtime facial.” A ClearV session for vascular concerns generally takes 30 minutes or less, depending on the size and number of treatment areas. Both treatments are efficient, allowing patients to return to work or normal activities right away.
Neither treatment requires significant downtime. After ClearSilk, patients may notice minor redness or slight warmth for a few hours. After ClearV, some swelling, redness, or a sunburn-like sensation is normal and typically resolves within 48 hours. The treated veins may briefly appear more visible, but they will begin to fade within three weeks. Support garments like compression hose can help with any temporary discomfort.
Initial changes appear within about three weeks after a ClearV treatment, as the treated vessels begin to fade. Results continue to improve over subsequent weeks. Multiple sessions may be recommended for optimal results, particularly for extensive vascular lesions or rosacea. Dr. Yegiyants will develop a personalized treatment plan during your consultation.
Both ClearV and ClearSilk can be safely used on nearly any area of the body, including the face, neck, arms, chest, abdomen, legs, and feet. This versatility makes them among the most comprehensive non-surgical laser treatments available at the SY Plastic Surgery medspa in Santa Barbara.
Yes — both procedures are safe to perform year-round, including during warmer months when sun exposure is more common. This gives patients greater scheduling flexibility compared to some other laser treatments that require avoidance during summer. After treatment, patients are advised to limit their time in the sun and follow Dr. Yegiyants’ post-care guidelines to protect their results.
Yes. ClearSilk uses non-ablative laser energy to stimulate the treated skin’s natural collagen and elastin production. Over time, this leads to improved skin firmness, reduced fine lines and wrinkles, and a more youthful, luminous complexion. Many patients incorporate ClearSilk into an ongoing skin maintenance plan for long-term anti-aging benefits – without any recovery time.
The number of sessions varies depending on your individual skin concerns and goals. Some patients see excellent results after a single ClearSilk facial, while others choose to schedule regular maintenance treatments. For ClearV, more stubborn vascular conditions like rosacea, port wine stains, or spider veins may require multiple sessions. Dr. Yegiyants will recommend a customized treatment schedule during your consultation at her Santa Barbara practice.
No, neither ClearV nor ClearSilk are laser skin resurfacing treatments, though they are often searched alongside them. Laser skin resurfacing (such as the Sciton HALO or Deka DOT) works by removing the outer layers of skin to address deeper concerns like acne scars, sun damage, and significant textural irregularities – and typically involves several days of downtime during healing.
ClearV and ClearSilk work differently than laser skin resurfacing treatments. ClearV uses targeted laser energy to treat vascular conditions beneath the skin’s surface, such as spider veins, rosacea, and broken capillaries, without disrupting the outer skin layer. ClearSilk is a non-ablative laser treatment, meaning it delivers gentle heat to the deeper skin tissue to stimulate collagen, reduce redness, and improve overall skin tone – all without removing or wounding the skin’s surface. The key distinction is that ClearV and ClearSilk are non-ablative, no-downtime treatments, while laser skin resurfacing is ablative and requires recovery time.
